Worked example: one Connecticut home

Take 1,000 square feet of attic insulation across 2 large zones, on a project that costs $5,000, in a home heated with oil. These are example inputs, not typical prices. Each program's own rule gives the amounts below; where one program has several tiers only the largest one counts, separate programs add up, and a percentage offer with no cost entered is shown at its ceiling.

UtilityNot income-qualifiedModerate incomeLow income
Eversource (Connecticut)$2,000$2,500$5,000
United Illuminating (UI)$2,000$2,500$5,000
Connecticut Natural Gas (CNG)$2,000$2,500$5,000
Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG)$2,000$2,500$5,000

For a household that is not income-qualified, the example comes to $2,000, made of $2,000 from Energize CT insulation (Professional install). A household that meets a program's low-income definition gets $3,000 more in the same example, because 1 offer is paid at the income-qualified level. All 4 listed utilities come out the same, because the money comes from a shared program.

Who can use these Connecticut offers

Every household in Connecticut covered by Energize CT can apply; the offers are not limited to one utility's territory.
