Worked example: one Vermont home

Take one home EV charger bought this year. These are example inputs, not typical prices. Each program's own rule gives the amounts below; where one program has several tiers only the largest one counts, separate programs add up, and a percentage offer with no cost entered is shown at its ceiling.

UtilityNot income-qualifiedModerate incomeLow income
Green Mountain Power$500 max$500 max$500 max
Burlington Electric Department$900 max$900 max$1,000 max

For a household that is not income-qualified, the example comes to $500 at most, made of $500 from GMP home charger. The income-qualified offers here do not change this example's total, either because their amount is not stated on the program page or because the standard offer is already the larger one. Your utility matters: Burlington Electric Department customers see $900 against $500 for Green Mountain Power.
